PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for setting the temperature of a heating furnace are provided to stably set a temperature for each working zone in a heating furnace by setting the temperature of a leading zone according to information of rolled materials left in a following zone. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting the temperature of a heating furnace comprises a step of reading information of a first rolled material in a leading zone and a second rolled material left in a following zone to be charged into the leading zone following the first rolled material(S301) and a step of setting the temperature of the leading zone according to a first leading zone temperature of the second rolled material to the leading zone in case of different roll units of the first and second rolled materials(S302-S313). The temperature setting step comprises the steps of: setting a first leading zone temperature of the second rolled material to the leading zone, calculating a first follow-up time required for the leading zone to follow the first leading zone temperature, a first furnace remaining time for the second rolled material to remain in the following zone, and setting the temperature of the leading zone according to a second leading zone temperature of a third rolled material, which exists in the following zone to be charged following the second rolled material, to the leading zone if the first follow-up time is longer than the first furnace remaining time. |
