摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic bearing usable with corrosion resistance in an oil and gas environment. <P>SOLUTION: This jacketed active magnetic bearing for a rotating machine includes a bearing armature 31 made of a thin layer magnetic material and fitted to a rotor in contact with process gas, and a bearing stator 41 of an electromagnetic coil 42 wound around a yoke 43 made of a thin layer magnetic material. The bearing stator is protected by a first jacket 34 made of ferritic stainless steel which is a magnetic corrosion-resistant material cooperating with a first housing portion to form a first leaktight housing 40. The first housing portion is made of ferritic stainless steel and has insertion parts 38A, 38B connected to a housing end wall portion 44 made of the magnetic corrosion-resistant material, by weld parts 36A, 36B and 37A, 37B before the electromagnetic coil and the yoke of the bearing stator are placed in suitable parts.
