PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding method having reduced errors.

SOLUTION: The encoding method includes: a normalization step of normalizing an input signal on the basis of normalized values of the input signal obtained per frame; a signal quantization step of quantizing a normalized input signal sequence to generate a signal quantization index; a correction coefficient generation step of generating a correction coefficient minimizing a distance scale between a signal sequence obtained by multiplying an input signal sequence by the normalized values and a signal sequence obtained by multiplying a signal sequence corresponding to the quantization index by normalized values corrected by the correction coefficient; a normalized information quantization step of quantizing the corrected normalized values to generate a normalized information quantization index; and a code output step of outputting a code including at least the signal quantization index and the normalized information quantization index.
