METHOD OF MOLDING GREEN COMPACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold a green compact having a claw part whose length-to-thickness ratio (aspect ratio) is four or larger.

SOLUTION: A press forming die molds powder such as iron powder and includes an internal core rod, an external die, and upper and lower punches. A narrow and long portion is provided between the lower punch that is located downward when filling powder and the core rod or between the lower punch and die. When a trouble occurs while filling powder into the narrow and long portion, shear motion occurs when pressing such that the lower punch and core rod at the narrow side or the lower punch and die at the narrow side inversely move against the neutral plane of a compact.
