<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of transmitting image data received via a network to an appropriate personal computer among a plurality of connected personal computers without requiring preliminary registration of a transmission destination of the image data, and to provide a method of controlling the same, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation device registers a device to be a transfer destination of image data among devices connected with a network, and counts a time period in which no access from the registered device is generated. When the counted time period exceeds a predetermined time period, the image formation device switches a device to be the transfer destination of the image data to the other device among the devices connected with the network.
