<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a user that an image protrudes from a printing area of a sheet before generating the image on the sheet to output it. <P>SOLUTION: A setting storage unit stores setting values of size, orientation and printing area of the sheet, and a magnification of the image to be formed on the sheet. A protrusion ratio calculation unit calculates a protrusion ratio indicating a ratio of an area of a portion protruding from the printing area of the image to the area of the image, when the image is formed on the sheet, on the basis of the image data stored in an image data storage unit and the setting values stored in the setting storage unit. After the protruding ratio is displayed on a display unit 403, an image formation acceptance unit accepts an instruction to form the image on the sheet by operation of an operation unit (key 48a). When the image formation instruction is accepted by the image formation acceptance unit, an image formation unit forms the image on the sheet under a condition of setting values stored in the setting storage unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
