<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image filing device that solves problems such as shortening of a storage period of image data, a rise in cost, delay of image reference, a decrease in network throughput, and reference to an unnecessary image by efficiently processing filing of images gathered by a medical image photographic device for multi-slice X-ray CT. <P>SOLUTION: A medical image filing device 12 includes a primary storage device 22 and a secondary storage device 26. The medical image filing device 12 is further provided with: an image secondary storage condition setting part 41 which sets a secondary storage condition for storing medical image data in the secondary storage device; an image secondary storage condition determination part 42 which determines whether properties of medical image data stored in the primary storage device 22 meet the secondary storage condition; and an image recording part 43 which records only medical image data determined by the image secondary storage condition determination part 42 to meet the secondary storage condition in the secondary storage device 26.
