<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion unit which has a structure uniting a pair of cases while effectively suppressing the crushing of a thermoelectric conversion element. <P>SOLUTION: A thermoelectric conversion unit 1 includes: a pair of cases 4 and 5; a pair of substrates 2b and 2c provided between the pair of the cases 4 and 5 and opposing to the cases 4 and 5; a plurality of thermoelectric conversion elements 2a provided between the pair of the substrates 2b and 2c; annular seal members 8 and 9 provided between the cases 4 and 5 and the substrates 2b and 2c opposing to the cases 4 and 5, and disposed along outer peripheral portions of the substrates 2b and 2c; and a colum member 3 provided between the pair of the substrates 2b and 2c so as to be aligned at the same position in a stacking direction of the cases 4 and 5 over the substrates 2b and 2c to the seal members 8 and 9, and abutting on the substrates 2b and 2c.
