METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT OF VIABLE INTESTINAL LIMITS IN FASHIONING ENTERO-ENTEROANASTOMOSIS IN SETTING OF PERITONITIS

A method for the assessment of the viable intestinal limits in fashioning entero-enteroanastomosis in the setting of peritonitis comprises the exploration of the intestinal walls comparing the color and edema of injured and intact segments. The morphological parameters of the resected segments in the area of anticipated anastomosis are examined. When the specific volume of microvasculature is 0.4578±0.0217, the percentage of the inflammatory infiltrate of polymorphonuclear leukocytes is 26.14±1.16 %, and the index of necrotic foci is 0.0247±0.0135, the intestine is considered as viable. This is regarded as indication to providing anastomosis.
