<p>Provided are a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization and a catalyst making it possible to obtain propylene polymers at high yield rates while maintaining high stereoregularity, wherein said catalyst has high catalyst activity in gas phase polymerization, but the propensity of said catalyst to rapid reaction during the early polymerization to polymerization activity is suppressed. This solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization contains magnesium, titanium, halogen and internal electron donors, and the molar ratio of the total content of asymmetric phthalic acid diesters represented by formula (1) : R1 k(C6H4-k)(COOR2)(COOR3) (1) (in the formula, R1 is an alkyl group, R2 is a carbon number 2-6 straight-chain alkyl group or branched alkyl group, or alkenyl group, R3 is a carbon number 1-5 straight-chain alkyl group or branched alkyl group with a carbon number smaller than that of R2, and k is the number of the R1 substituents, 0 or an integer 1-4.) to the total content of said internal electron donors is 0.2-0.8.</p> |
