摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an object distance without using an exclusive irradiation unit. <P>SOLUTION: Illumination windows 21 are disposed on the right and left sides of an observation window 20 for photography in a distal end 17 of an insertion tube of an endoscope. When the distal end 17 approaches an observed region S, halation occurs around an illumination light axis LA of the right and left illumination windows 21 respectively, and two bright points BP enter an observation image. The position of the illumination light axis LA in the observed region S does not change even if the object distance L between the observed region S and the distal end 17 changes, but a photography range A changes, and as a result, the distance between the two bright points BP within the observation image changes.
