<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which is improved in its secondary electron emission property and charge retention property by improving a surface layer (protection film), and arranged to offer a good image display performance, and which can be driven by a low electric power with stability and which allows the shortening of the aging time in addition to the above advantages. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a dielectric layer 7, and a protection film 8 provided on the dielectric layer 7 on the side of a discharge space. The protection film has a thickness of about 1 μm. The protection film 8 has a first region 8a formed in its area facing the discharge space 15, and the first region contains CeO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, and Sr of a density between 11.8 mol% and 49.4 mol% inclusive. A second region 8b other than the first region 8a contains CeO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, and Sr of a higher density compared to that of the first region 8a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
