<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in conventional safety improvement measures (fall prevention or the like) such as provision of a direction mark to a handrail belt, wherein the presence of the direction mark is hardly recognized visually due to the decrease in environmental illuminance, and also a structure for reliably and adhesively joining a print sheet including the direction mark to a urethane-made handrail belt has not been established. <P>SOLUTION: A print sheet 6AA obtained by printing an eye-catching direction mark 6A of a circular shape or the like colored in yellow or white different from a surface color of a urethane-made handrail belt 6 while containing luminescent pigment 6Aa is stuck on and joined with the surface of the handrail belt 6 to be the front of an escalator 1 via an adhesive layer 6CC at intervals of P such that at least one direction mark is present within a semicircular range of inverting parts 5A, 5B of the handrail belt 6.
