<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a surface modifying method which gives slidability to the surface of elastomer, such as vulcanized rubber without using expensive, self-lubricating resin; a surface modification elastomer on which a polymer brush is formed; and a syringe. <P>SOLUTION: The surface modifying method targets the surface of vulcanized rubber. According to the method, a hydroxyl group is made on the surface of an object to be modified such as rubber by the sub-effect of crosslinking reaction. Then, a secondary or tertially organic halogen compound is acted on the hydroxyl group to form a polymerization starting point. Then, based on this polymerization starting point as a starting point, a polymer brush is developed on the surface of the object to be modified through the radical polymerization of the monomer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
