<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prefetch data in an appropriate block size. <P>SOLUTION: A data input/output part makes a request to read data in units of pages from a nonvolatile storage device and stores the read data into a buffer. A profile creating part creates a prefetch profile obtained by converting a history of the request to read the data from the nonvolatile storage device into data whose read position and size are indicated in units of blocks in a prefetch block size, the request issued by the data input/output part in accordance with a request from a program to be prefetched. A prefetching part requests the data input/output part to prefetch the data of the program to be prefetched from the nonvolatile storage device to the buffer, based on the prefetch profile.
