PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device that reduces an operation load of character input and has improved operation convenience.

SOLUTION: An input device includes: input means that can be moved in plural directions each allocated to plural characters and specifies plural characters in accordance with its movement in any of the plural directions; and character selection means that can be moved in plural directions and selects as an input character one character among the plural characters specified by the input means on the basis of its movement in any of the plural directions.
