The receiver (20) has a photodiode (22) that acquires a modulated light. A synchronous switch (28) is connected with the photodiode over the signal inputs and is provided with a modulator (30) whose signal outputs are connected with the smoothing capacitors. The synchronous switch is provided for switching two diode bridges or two diode rings. A current measurement circuit (29) is connected with the synchronous switch and is designed such that the voltage sloping over the smoothing capacitors is kept constant by reproaching a discharge current.
