The present invention relates to methods and apparatus to cache content in a network. A monitor 104 monitors one or more requests for content, where the requests for content may be from user equipment 102. The monitor 104 determines whether to proactively cache said content based on one or more first policies and transmits an instruction message to one or more caches 106 to cache said content if said determination to proactively cache said content is positive.
