<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance saving energy performance by using more efficiently various waste heat, both small and large amounts, generated by devices. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: power generating parts 140-142 disposed in each of units that have temperature difference generating sources different from one another in temperature difference generated by them, and configured to generate power from the temperature differences generated by the corresponding units; power storage parts 143-145 configured to store power generated by the power generating parts 140-142; state detecting parts 152-154 configured such that in a power saving mode, power stored in the power storage parts 143-145 is supplied to each unit, the operations or operating states of power supplied parts 156-158 with the power generating parts 140-142 arranged therein are monitored, and the operating states of return from the power saving mode to a regular power supply mode is detected; and main power source switching parts 149-151 configured to supply power to the power supplied parts 156-158 from a main power source 155 when the state detecting parts 152-154 detect the operating state of the return. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
