Method and mixture used to produce inert bricks or another type of building block from soils contaminated with hydrocarbons, the method comprising the following steps: a) Providing a percentage of 1% to 60% by dry volume of earth or soil contaminated with hydrocarbons, then grinding and mixing with virgin clays free of contamination, in a proportion of 98% to 39% by volume; b) Adding 1% by dry volume of a binder of sawdust or industrial hydrocarbon-adsorbent type to the sum of the two components from step a) thereby completing the 100% of the dry volume of the mixture; c) Adding water to the mixture from step b) in order to obtain a moisture percentage of the composition of the mixture that is greater than 4% and less than 21%, resulting in a malleable mortar; d) Placing the malleable mortar obtained in step c) in automatic machines for forming bricks or other, similar shaped building blocks; e) Placing the resulting brick or similar block in the main chamber of a continuous kiln where said brick or block is dried and preheated with the hot residual air current from the secondary chamber; f) Firing said bricks or similar blocks at a temperature of between 800ºC and 1000ºC, for approximately 48 hours, during which any trace of hydrocarbon is finally eliminated; g) Cooling said bricks or similar blocks in the final part of the main chamber of the continuous kiln; and h) Storing the bricks or similar blocks obtained. |
