ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE POLYESTER RESIN FOR FORMING CONTAINER, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

This ethylene terephthalate polyester resin for forming a container has an intrinsic viscosity within the range from 0.80 dL/g to 0.90 dL/g, a content of copolymer components other than ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid of less than 1.5% by mole, a total content of monohydroxyethyl terephthalate and bishydroxyethyl terephthalate of less than 0.005% by weight, a melting enthalpy of 50 J/g or less, and a crystallinity of less than 60%. Consequently, this ethylene terephthalate polyester resin for forming a container has high intrinsic viscosity and excellent stretch moldability, while having excellent fusibility.
