PRE-CRIMPING TOOL FOR INDIRECT LIVE-LINE PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-crimping tool for indirect live-line processing capable of simply and swiftly performing an indirect live-line connection work using a connection sleeve.

SOLUTION: The pre-crimping tool is used in a preparation work prior to a crimp-connection work to connect two wires by, after abutting the two wires in a connection sleeve, crimping the connection sleeve at both sides of the abutting point. The pre-crimping tool includes: an insulated operation rod 14 of a predetermined length; and a crimping section 12 which includes a pair of open/close pieces 20 and 22 attached to the front end of the insulated operation rod 14. The pair of open/close pieces 20 and 22 is made open or closed by the operation made on a grip and operation part 28 provided to the insulated operation rod 14. The close operation of the open/close pieces 20 and 22 makes the connection sleeve to perform a grip and crimping operation. A movable piece 20 of the crimping section 12 has a small projection 24 protruding in a direction generally identical to the close direction of the movable piece 20 at a portion where the grip and crimping operation is made on the connection sleeve.
