<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which effectively ensures contact pressure, in a torsion type electric contact. <P>SOLUTION: A contact unit 8 has a plurality of contact beam portions 15 and contact coupling portions 16. The contact beam portion 15 has a body portion 20, a plug contacting portion 21, and a socket contacting portion 22. The body portion 20 has a tilting portion 20b tilting to the contact coupling portion 16, and a first twisting portion 20a formed so as to twist. The plug contacting portion 21 and the socket contacting portion 22 are disposed so as to make the contact beam portion 15 relatively twist-deform to the contact coupling portion 16 when a plug connector 2 and a receptacle connector 3 oppose over the contact beam portion 15.
