DRUM ELECTRODE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum electrode capable of keeping stable plating quality by easily cutting multiple projections without causing dispersion in the shapes and the sizes (transverse areas) of the projections after cutting, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: The drum electrode for a plating device for continuously electroplating a porous long strip provided with conductivity includes a power feed layer, an insulation layer covering the surface of the power feed layer, and metallic projections projecting from the surface of the insulation layer and electrically connected to the power feed layer by metal filled in through-holes penetrating the insulation layer in the thickness direction, wherein the metallic projections are aligned and arranged at predetermined intervals. The method of manufacturing the drum electrode includes processes of: forming through-holes at predetermined intervals in the thickness direction of an insulation layer in the insulation layer of a drum including a power feed layer and the insulation layer covering the surface of the power feed layer; and filling metal in the through-holes by electroplating and forming projections of metal in openings of the through-holes.
