The present invention relates to an optical unit and an imaging apparatus, which can realize a lens element that has a high MTF, is small, bright, and optimal to a fixed-focus camera while having an advantage of a three-group configuration that the depth of field is deep. An optical unit 100 includes a first lens group 110, a second lens group 120, and a third lens group 130, which are arranged in order from an object side to an image plane side, and the first lens group 110 includes a first lens element 111, a first transparent body 112, and a second lens element 113, which are arranged in order from the object side to the image plane side.
