PURPOSE: A monitoring camera and a pan/tilt/zoom speed controlling method thereof are provided to optimally tune pan/tilt/zoom speed according to an installation environment. CONSTITUTION: A motor(120) pans and tilts a camera(110). A motor sensor(140) detects a location of the motor. A control unit(180) moves the motor along preset coordinates at currently set maximum speed. The control unit determines step out of the motor. The control unit controls the maximum speed of the motor.
