The component has a rigid front wall (12) and a rigid rear wall (14) that are maintained at a distance from each other. A cavity (24) is allowed to extend between the two walls, and an insulating material of plant origin i.e. cereal straw, is housed inside the cavity. The rigid front wall and the rigid rear wall are made of composite materials made of a mixture of aggregates and plant-based binder compounds derived from living organisms. The binder compounds include organic acid, acetic acid, or hydraulic lime.
