Plates and films.-The support for the lightsensitive layer consists of condensation products of multivalent alcohols and polybasic acids or anhydrides thereof. The condensation products of glycerine and phthalic anhydride are instanced. Products of this kind, produced with additions of monobasic acids or monohydric alcohols in the manner described in Specification 299.424, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], may be used. The product may contain a softening medium, and it may be naturally coloured or colourless, or colouring matter may be incorporated with it. If permeability to light is not essential, the product may also contain filling substances, such as organic or inorganic fibrous substances in the form of individual fibres or tissues, or ground substances such as glass or mica. The product may be hardened in known manner by the application of pressure and heat during or after the making of the support. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also photographic layersuppnrts of artificial resins generally, including phenol-formaldchyde and phenol-acetaldehyde condensation products. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
