PURPOSE: A system and method for controlling low-voltage DC converter in starting a hybrid vehicle is provided to improve cold starting performance by completely using power from a main battery for driving a motor. CONSTITUTION: A system and method for controlling low-voltage DC converter in starting a hybrid vehicle comprises a motor, a main battery, an inverter, an auxiliary battery, a low voltage DC inverter, and a controller. The motor generates a driving force of the vehicle. The main battery stores DC voltage. The inverter converts the DC voltage to AC voltage and supplies the AC voltage to the motor. The sub battery supplies DC voltage to electric part of the vehicle at cold starting. The low-voltage converter converts the DC voltage of the sub battery to other DC voltage and supplies the converted DC voltage to the electric parts. The low-voltage DC converter receives and converts the DC voltage of the main battery, and supplies the converted DC voltage to the sub battery or the electric parts. The controller controls the operation of the inverter and the low-voltage DC converter.
