摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "segmented-in-series" fuel cell structure that has a support substrate with resistance to deformation when subjected to external force, the fuel cell structure reliably preventing a decline in gas seal function.SOLUTION: A flat substrate 10 has fuel gas channels 11 formed therein. On a main surface of the flat substrate 10, a plurality of power generating element sections A that are electrically connected in series are arranged at predetermined intervals. On the main surface of the flat substrate 10, a plurality of depressions 12 are formed at predetermined intervals. Each of the depressions 12 is a cuboid recess defined by four side walls that are circumferentially closed and a bottom wall. In each depression 12, a fuel electrode 20 of the corresponding power generating element section A is buried. A depression 21b is formed in a lateral surface of each fuel electrode 20. An interconnector 30 is buried in a central portion of each depression 21b, and a dense sealing material 35 with electric insulation is buried in an outer edge located around the central portion of each depression 21b. An entire outer edge of a lateral surface of the sealing material 35 is covered with a solid electrolyte membrane 40.
