PURPOSE: A data processing device and an operating method thereof are provided to increase the randomness of data by generating and using a pseudorandom number sequence having increased randomness without an increase in hardware complexity. CONSTITUTION: A pseudorandom number generator includes shift registers(21-1~21-4). A converting circuit(50a) randomizes first data into second data or de-randomizes randomized third data into fourth data by using a pseudorandom number sequence outputted from one of the shift registers except for a last shift register. A feedback polynomial determining unit(22) determines a feedback polynomial expression of the pseudorandom number generator by using a parameter for accessing a memory including the second or third data.
