PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescent display device and a driving method thereof are provided to sense a short circuit without an influence on driving by measuring current of a power line during a non-light emitting period. CONSTITUTION: A pixel part(120) displays a black image during a non-light emitting period. The pixel part displays an effective image during a light emitting period. A DC-DC converter(170) supplies a first power source to the pixel part through a first power line. The DC-DC converter discontinues the supply of the first power source. A current sensor(180) measures a current amount flowing through the first power line during the non-light emitting period. The current sensor supplies a stop signal to the DC-DC converter.
