The basket (1) has a basket holder (20) including a hanging unit (22) for hanging the holder to the basket and a gripping handle (24), where the holder is not connected to the basket. Dimensions and constitutive material of the holder are selected, so that the holder possesses a sufficient mechanical resistance to support a weight of the basket and medical instruments, where the basket is formed from woven or non woven fabric. The hanging unit is in form of closed loop adapted to be threaded around the basket. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) sterilization basket and package assembly (2) a method for utilizing a sterilization basket.
