PURPOSE: An energy management system and an energy management method thereof are provided to supply emergency energy to each household by using charged energy in a battery of an electric vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An energy management system(100) includes an energy management device(110) managing the usage of energy. An energy supplier(120) generates commercial energy by using water power, fire power, wind power, and atomic power. An energy supply line(130) supplies commercial energy to plural household(140). Plural smart meters(150) are installed in each household. Plural energy charging and discharging devices(170) charge electric vehicles(160-2) parked in plural parking places(160) with the commercial energy through each battery.
