PURPOSE: A space maintenance device for a cord of a roll blind is provided to prevent a cord from being wound around the neck of children by forming a space maintainer in the cord. CONSTITUTION: A space maintenance device for a cord of a roll blind comprises a space maintainer(50) and a cord drive unit(60). The space maintainer is composed of a body portion and tube portions and guides the vertical movement of cords. The body portion maintains the space between the cords. The tube portions are formed along both edges of the body portion, and the cords are inserted into the tube portions. The cord drive unit is installed in the U-shaped lowermost portion of the cords.
