PURPOSE: A fault point detection system in a transmission line and a method are provided to minimize influence of sound noise applied from a fault point. CONSTITUTION: A fault point detection system in a transmission line includes a surge generation unit(110), a first detection device(120), a second detection device(130) and a fault point operation unit(150). The surge generation unit generates a surge voltage and applies the same to the transmission line installed in the pipe.
