<p>An attenuator and a method are disclosed. The attenuator (10A) comprises: an input (20) operable to receive an input signal to be attenuated; a coupling device (30) coupled with said input and with an output (40) providing an attenuated input signal; and at least one reflective load (50,50a) coupled with said coupling device to receive said input signal, said reflective load having a varactor diode (C V ) coupled with an RLC network. Providing a reflective load having a varactor diode gives an arrangement of a variable reactance element that consumes very little power. This helps provide for improved intermodulation performance of a varactor based reflection type attenuator.</p> |
