PURPOSE: A high-strength Mg alloy extruded material and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve high-temperature mechanical characteristics by adding Sn as an alloy material to restrict grain boundary sliding. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a high-strength Mg alloy extruded material comprises the following steps: melting a Mg alloy material, which comprises mainly Mg, and 7.8-9.2wt % of Al, 0.2-0.8wt % of Zn, 0.2wt % or less(0 is exclusive) of Mn, 0.01-4.0wt % of Zr, 0.5-7wt % of Sn, and inevitable impurities; casting the molten Mg alloy material; extruding the cast billets; and performing additional heat treatment of extruded products. |
