PURPOSE: A driving device for an electronic device and a driving method are provided to assign acceleration connected with compression pressure to pointer movement, thereby rapidly and easily providing the pointer movement. CONSTITUTION: A housing(100) comprises a fitting groove(110). An input signal delivery body(200) is inserted into the fitting groove. The input signal delivery body controls movement of a pointer displayed on a screen display device. A direction sensing means(310) generates a pointer movement direction signal. When compression pressure is applied to the input signal delivery body, a speed sensing means(320) generates an additional movement signal or a movement speed change signal for the pointer. Pointer movement is controlled by using the pointer movement direction signal, the additional movement signal, and the movement speed change signal.
