PURPOSE: A similarity detection device of an application, and a method thereof are provided to determine forgery of an Android application through repackaging and similarity between applications, thereby protecting a right of an application developer. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(110) receives a similarity measurement request message of an application. A file extraction unit(120) extracts file information from a reference application and a compared object application related to the message. A file analysis unit analyzes the coincidence between the reference application and the compared object application by comparing the applications based on the file information. A similarity analysis unit(160) analyzes repackaging, forgery, or similarity based on the analysis result obtained from the file analysis unit.
