PURPOSE: A composition containing a Rosa multiflora extract is provided to prevent hair loss, to promote hair growth, and scalp blood circulation, and to relieve scalp inflammation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth contains a Rosa multiflora extract as an active ingredient. The composition additionally contains extracts of black soybeans, Puerariae radix, silk of Zea mays linne, burdock, or mugwort. The extract is prepared using water, low carbon number alcohol, ethyl acetate, hexane, chloroform, or acetonitrile. The composition is a cosmetic, food, or pharmaceutical composition. A cosmetic method for preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth comprises a step of applying or spraying the composition onto the scalp.
