PURPOSE: An emergency opening and closing apparatus for a train door and a method using the same are provided to manually open and close a train door without needing passengers to report an emergency or manipulate the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An emergency opening and closing apparatus for a train door comprises a sensor part(110), a universal train control device(120), and a door controller(150). The sensor part senses emergency situations in trains and transmits emergency signals to the universal train control device and the door controller. When receiving the emergency signals from the sensor part, the universal train control device transmits the emergency signals to a control center, controls train speed, and transmits train stop signals to the door controller. When receiving the emergency signals from the sensor part and the train stop signals from the universal train control device, the door controller controls a door driving part so that passengers can manually open and close a train door.
