Automatic data-acquisition method

The method involves capturing a representation of a coded diagram (3) e.g. two-dimensional bar code, affixed on an object (1) e.g. periodical publication or mail addressed to a user (2), where the publication or the mail comprises multiple headings (5) relative to multiple products and/or services, and each heading comprises a coded diagram. Data are automatically acquired from a remote data processing center i.e. Internet server (7), based on two codes encoded in the diagram. A representation of the coded diagram affixed against one of the headings is captured during the capturing step. The two codes are related to one of the headings and to the user, respectively.
