<p>A safety needle assembly includes a hub (80) having a proximal end for connection to a syringe and a distal end, a cannula (40)provided with a lumen and having a proximal end connected to the distal end of the hub (20) and a beveled distal end, and a collar (50) formed separately from the hub (20) and mounted on the hub (20) in a rotationally fixed manner, with the collar (50) including a sheath (80) mounting portion. A removable protector is positioned over the cannula (40) and covers the beveled distal end of the cannula (40). A sheath (80) having an opening is pivotally connected to the sheath (80) mounting portion of the collar (50) and is positioned outside the protector when the protector is positioned over the cannula(40).</p> |
