PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing upward movement of strip is provided to accurately measure the temperature, thickness, and width of the strip, thereby improving control performance and preventing overlap of the strip. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing upward movement of strip comprises a fixed frame part(10) which is located above feed rollers transferring strip discharged from a finish rolling machine, an air nozzle part(20) which is placed in the fixed frame part and blows air to the upper side of the strip, a protective roller part(30) which is arranged under the air nozzle part and allowed to rotate, a control part which controls the operation of the air nozzle part, and a detecting sensor(50) which is arranged on the exit side of the finish rolling machine and transmits a detection signal to the control part when detecting the discharge of the strip so that the control part controls the operation of the air nozzle part depending on the detection signal.
