PURPOSE: A device for detecting a position of a hot rolled coil is provided to sense the hot rolled coil leaning to left and right sides, a front end portion and a tail end portion of the hot rolled coil by an electromagnetic induction method when cooling the hot rolled coil to control temperature for winding after rolling in a rolling process and accurately detect a position of the hot rolled coil even in an environment in which a large amount of vapor and cooling remained water are existed. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting a position of a hot rolled coil comprises a first inductor sensor(10), a second inductor sensor(20), and a control unit(30). The first inductor sensor is installed in a drive side of a run-out table, thereby sensing an eddy current of an AC magnetic field caused by the hot rolled coil moving along a pass line. The second inductor sensor is installed in a work side of the run-out table, thereby sensing the eddy current of the AC magnetic field of the hot rolled coil moving along the pass line. The control unit receives the eddy current of the AC magnetic field sensed by the first and second inductor sensors, thereby detection the hot rolled coil leaning to left and right sides, and a front end portion and a tail end portion of the hot rolled coil.
