<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which efficiently performs measurement processing of a surface shape and improves the through-put of an imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: holding means for holding a subject; surface shape measuring means for measuring the surface shape of the subject; imaging means for adjusting an imaging surface according to the surface shape measured by the surface shape measuring means, and imaging the subject; and specifying means for specifying an existing area in which an object to be imaged exists, from the whole area of the subject.
