PURPOSE: A method for producing high-carbon steel is provided to obtain a fine pearlite structure by reducing the size of the ferrite crystal grains to increase the surface area of the grain boundary. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing high-carbon steel comprises the steps of: homogenizing a steel material that includes 0.45 wt% or greater of C in a reheating temperature region and a rolling homogenized steel material in multiple stages of different temperature regions through high-temperature and low-temperature compressive transformation, where the low-temperature compressive transformation is implemented in an isothermal transformation temperature region.
