<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate copolymer having a high refractive index and excellent in heat resistance, and to provide an optical lens formed from the polycarbonate copolymer. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate copolymer in which the total content of a dihydroxy compound represented by general formula (1) and two specific dihydroxy compounds in all hydroxyl compounds is 100-70%, and the molar ratio of general formula (1):the specific two dihydroxy compounds is ≥5% and <50%:≤95% and >50%.
