<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform legible printing by achieving definition of an ink jet head reliably under actual conditions. <P>SOLUTION: Ink drops having the number of drops different from each other are ejected from respective nozzles of an ink jet head (IJ head) onto a common print sheet to form a plurality of dot rows having different outer diameters, which are then read in a reading unit. A dot having an outer diameter corresponding to the definition of the IJ head is selected, and the number of drops of ink drops forming this dot is acquired as the optimum control data. During actual printing, a print sheet of the same type is used, and the IJ head is controlled by the optimum control data. Since printing can be carried out with dots having an outer diameter corresponding to the definition of the IJ head, even a small character that is likely to be collapsed by printing can be printed legibly with high reproducibility. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
